the french connection.

Well, it’s summer, and for the first time, the temperature is passing 30… which means we’re all wilting. The fan is on twenty-four hours a day, and every person you pass in the street, even perfect strangers, says the same thing: ‘Ooh, it’s hot, isn’t it? I know we shouldn’t complain, but…’

I hope all is well with you all. Busy times here. We returned from a lovely holiday by the coast in a quiet little village called Middleton-on-Sea. With only a short walk to the beach, we had a great time, especially the pups. Noah isn’t afraid of the water and braver than I would like him to be! We’re off on another beach holiday in August, it’s good for my husband to have a chance to rest and recuperate. He’s doing well, but it’s slow progress.

I’ve been busy with the next two releases, and this weekend we just signed off on the covers, and the pre-orders went live. I can’t quite believe we managed to pull off two releases for the second half of the year, but I’m so pleased we did in this the tenth anniversary of the Hugo books. It seems fitting to have the 14th entry released on the tenth anniversary.

Before all that, we have the three French releases. It’s been such a thrill to finally have these French translations. I hope they find a home and that we get to do more. I’ve loved working with Juliette on these translations, and all being well, there’ll be more to come.

As for the next few years, as it stands, there are four more books in various stages of production, and I’m just about to begin the 15th Hugo story before starting on a brand new trilogy, so there’s lots more to come!

More news to come, but until then, stay cool and healthy!
