Happy holidays!

And so here we are at the end of another year, and one I’m not sorry to see the back of. I have enjoyed spending time in my little cocoon with my husband and our gorgeous dogs, but life has continued to come knocking. In the first part of the year, I lost my sister and then, soon after, one of my closest friends. My husband’s health continued to cause concern, and he had another few stays in the hospital as well as further operations. As it stands, and with my hands firmly touching wood, he seems to be doing well, and it appears the last operation was a success. We’ll know more in February, so keep your fingers crossed. His mum also had to have open-heart surgery and is now taking the steps to recovery. And then, just this week, I discovered that my darling neighbour and dear friend has not long to live. See why I won’t be sorry to see the back of this year?

Like I said, I am lucky in so many ways, and I cherish that and try to remind myself of it whenever I feel sadness knocking on my shoulder. It’s been a good year for my books with two releases, and I have received some fantastic feedback for them both, and they’ve sold well. As we head into the tenth year of the releases, I’m still amazed that they found an audience who sticks by us book after book.

So, what does 2025 have in store for us? Well, first up in March will be ‘Josef.’ It’s a sort of unofficial sequel to ‘Hugo & Josef’ and serves as the debut of a brand-new series headed by Caspar Olivier Minoru. The action takes place in Paris and Israel over two time periods, and we will discover what happened to Josef Levy when he left Hugo and Paris in 1995. It’s an interesting story, and I enjoyed writing for new characters. The series continues in ‘Above. Lies. Below,’ which is another story I have finished and as of right now, I am heading to the final denouement in the third story, ‘Bertram Hervé’s Final Case.’ But before either of those, there is a brand new mystery for Coco and another investigation for Hugo. You see? Despite my difficult times, I’ve managed to keep busy!

Apologies for ending the year on a downer, but I wanted to thank you for all your support with the books and those who reached out to check on me. I cherish all your love and kind words and want to reassure you that I am doing fine. I am optimistic for 2025 and all it might bring for us. Depending upon my husband’s health, I am hopeful we might finally get to move house and start a new life by the beach, as I’ve dreamed of doing for so long. As we head into this new year, I hope, above all else, that it brings you good health and peace, and I look forward to sharing it with you.

All my love,

Gx

PS Oh, and check out social media. I have a brand new radio interview coming in early January. Luckily, it was pre-recorded, so I didn’t have to worry too much about my potty mouth!
