happy new year
Apologies for the delay in sending those wishes, but I found myself rather bogged down with things all happening at once at the end of the year. ‘Hugo & Josef’ came out on Christmas Eve and the audiobook of ‘Sept Jours’ made its own appearance on New Year’s Eve. I’m so happy with the reaction to both of them so far, especially because it was quite a detour from the ‘Investigates’ series of books.
It’s always weird to hear your words being spoken and I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it - so much so that most of the checking is done by my husband and my dear friend Jackie. Once they give their seal of approval then I know it’s good work. As we speak, work is finishing on the ‘Hugo & Josef’ audiobook and I’m also happy to say that Henry Douthwaite is working on the second Hugo audiobook, so all in all 2022 is going to be another busy year.
Next up is the second Coco book, coming early March and then in June, we have the 11th Hugo book. I’ll write more about them both of them soon, but I’m very excited to share them with you.
I hope your Christmas holidays were good. These are strange times and we just have to make the best of it don’t we? Mine was lovely, quiet but that’s okay. I spent it with my three boys, wrapped up in our little cocoon and spending time together laughing, eating, drinking and watching copious amounts of television. I received some lovely presents (bought by myself for Dan to give to me, trust me, that’s the best way to make sure I don’t get something like a large plastic crocodile and tiger as I did one year, “well, you like animals, so I thought that would be an ideal present…” was the explanation.)
2022 is a new page in our lives, let’s just do what we can to make it as nice as we can. Love who you can and live the best you can and I’ve got a feeling the rest will fall into place.
More soon cher amis.
